Equal access to documents
for people of all abilities

Crawford Technologies Document Accessibility Workshop

Making your client’s documents accessible.

Crawford Technologies is pleased to offer an interactive workshop on this important topic:

  • Sunday, September 13th, 2015

  • McCormick Place Room S104 Level 1 South Building

  • 8:30 a.m. to Noon.

Requirements for multi-channel communications are rapidly evolving to encompass document accessibility. With new legislation for working with the U.S. Federal Government pending, companies will be forced to provide alternate format accessible documents, both to comply with the new regulations and to meet the needs of their blind, partially sighted, or cognitively challenged clients.

Why should you attend?

Whether you are a print service provider, an in-plant, a company with employees, or disseminating client communications, your clients look to you for comprehensive solutions for transactional, on-demand documents containing critical and highly confidential information. You manage the output and distribution within your production workflows, and want to be as efficient and cost-effective as possible. The good news is that system generated documents created in virtually any print description language can be transformed into accessible documents using software automation tools and/or external service bureau solutions.

In this interactive workshop, we will outline and show you traditional alternate formats such as Braille, Large Print, eText, Audio and DAISY and discuss how you can offer these formats as a value added service to your clients. We’ll demonstrate how to tag documents to create accessible PDFs for use with Assistive Technologies such as JAWS and NVDA and demonstrate how documents can be consumed using a screen reader. We’ll provide a hands-on demonstration on how documents can be converted into alternate formats using a one-step transformation - providing cost savings and maximum flexibility.
